D-Best Agency is a network of Mortgage and Life Insurance Professionals dedicated to giving personalized attention to the individuals and families we serve, always putting the clients’ needs first.

We believe in taking a collaborative approach to insurance planning, first learning your family’s specific wants and needs before recommending a coverage plan or financial strategy. Unlike traditional insurance agents, who can sell products from only one carrier, our specialists act as insurance brokers, representing a range of options from numerous different insurance providers, all of whom are rated “A” or above by A.M. Best. That allows us to find the right financial product to meet your needs and put together an individualized plan that won’t break your budget!

Take the high road for the most reliable river crossing without all the stop and go!

Privately owned and operated, the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge’s Operations Office is located inside “The Portlock” building at 3815 Bainbridge Boulevard, Chesapeake, VA 23324. The office offers limited customer service hours and E-ZPass sales on weekdays excluding most federal holidays.

The South Norfolk Jordan Bridge (SNJB) delivers the most reliable crossing of the Elizabeth River’s Southern Branch and was the region’s first fully-electronic toll facility. E-ZPass is accepted to maximize convenience for drivers and deliver the lowest travel fee, but it is not required for travel. Vehicles without a valid E-ZPass will be mailed an invoice for their travel fees to the address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Toll rates start at $2.25 with additional charges for multi-axle vehicles.

The original Jordan Bridge opened in 1928, closed temporarily for repairs in 1994 and reopened to traffic in December 1995 with a 50-cent toll. On October 14, 2008, Chesapeake City Council voted to shut down the bridge effective November 8, 2008, due to structural deterioration and lack of funding for repairs. Figg Bridge Developers submitted plans for a new privately-funded Jordan Bridge that also included removal of the closed facility, and was approved unanimously by Council on January 27, 2009. The modern South Norfolk Jordan Bridge is the result of that effort and opened to traffic in late October 2012.
